Advantages of the EP Hammer

The EP series of resonance-free variable-frequency, variable-torque electric vibration pile hammers once won the First Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress from the Ministry of Construction; they were exported to Japan, where they were praised as the 'New Era Pile Hammer' and listed by the Japanese Ministry of Construction (now the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism) as a product for new technology promotion.

The biggest feature of the EP series resonance-free vibration hammer is its use of a hydraulic-controlled eccentric conversion device, which allows for 'zero' torque startup, 'zero' torque shutdown, and stepless adjustment of eccentric torque during operation. Compared with traditional vibration hammers, it shows huge advantages.

2022: The EP series first ventured into Southeast Asia Kicking off the expansion into the region

With the rapid development of the global economy, the demand for infrastructure is booming everywhere, especially in overseas countries like Southeast Asia. At the same time, with growing environmental awareness, in 2022, the EP120 non-resonant vibration hammer, thanks to its own advantages, successfully entered the Southeast Asian market for the first time, marking the start of Shanghai Zhenzhong's expansion into Southeast Asia.

Indonesia is our first stop in Southeast Asia. The EP270 is currently our largest vibration-free hammer in Indonesia. It’s being used for the expansion of the Jakarta port, driving 2.2-meter diameter steel pipe lock piles 35 meters deep. The piles are driven directly with the lifting method until they reach the bottom without needing a secondary strike from a drop hammer.

This project has shown Southeast Asian customers the advantages and potential of vibration-free hammers.

After being tested over time and gaining a solid reputation, this year the EP240 resonance-free vibratory hammer was used for the first time in the main urban area of a central city in Malaysia.

On site, a steel casing with a diameter of 2.8 meters and a length of 28 meters was lifted using a truck crane and directly vibrated into place without a guide frame. It worked alongside a rotary drilling rig to construct rock-embedded piles, successfully driving the casing into the slightly weathered rock layer. For this project, our EP240 vibratory hammer was carefully optimized based on theoretical calculations and the client’s construction requirements, enabling it to showcase its significant performance advantages. The project also demonstrated that the resonance-free vibratory hammer can be easily lifted by a truck crane and operate at night in a high-end hotel and residential area in the city center. It perfectly highlights its unique advantage: when vibrating, the hammer reduces the impact of resonance on both the truck crane and the surrounding urban structures.

Based on several real projects in Southeast Asia, Shanghai Zhenzhong's EP650 successfully contributed to an offshore wind power project in southern Vietnam. With its efficiency, energy-saving safety, stability, and strong adaptability, it perfectly fit offshore engineering operations, leaving a deep impression on Vietnamese clients with the solid performance of Shanghai Zhenzhong's non-resonant vibratory hammer.

And in June this year, we gained the trust of our Vietnamese clients again, who firmly chose our Shanghai Zhenzhong non-resonant vibration hammer and ordered multiple units. By the end of the month, several EP320s were successfully shipped and set off for Vietnam.

Looking back from 2022 until now, the Southeast Asian market has provided the most real results: from single-device orders to bulk multi-unit purchases; our clients include both overseas engineering projects and local Southeast Asian companies. The EP series vibratory hammers have become a common mainstay on construction sites in Southeast Asia.

Under the ‘Belt and Road’ initiative, the demand for ports, infrastructure, and urban redevelopment in Southeast Asia continues to grow. Starting from this new point, Shanghai Zhenzhong will continue to dig deeper into the Southeast Asian market, creating an integrated export solution of ‘equipment, technology, and after-sales service.’
